Street art has started to pick up some popularity lately
because of it being more than just a tag on a wall and more of a cool looking
picture. People have taken a liken to Banksy for his references to pop culture
such as pulp fiction ,Mario just to name a couple that have been used in his
street art.
Yesterday we visited the Waste to Art exhibition at the Cultural Centre in Dubbo. Today, we are looking at street artist Banksy, and considering the question of whether he is one of the greatest artists of our times, or just a troublesome legend in his own lunchtime.
Who is
Banksy?
In the month of October 2013, Banksy was appointed Artist in Residence for the city of New York. This prestigious award was bestowed upon him by arguably the most important and influential person in Banksy's life: Banksy himself.
